A Unique Summer Experience

Six people at Camp Dogwood paddling colorful round kayaks on a calm lake surrounded by grassy banks and trees.

Camp Dogwood offers more than a traditional camp—it's a place where children thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. Between academic sessions, they enjoy art, swimming, sports, cooking, music, dance, and storytelling, all in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Campers learn and practice the 4 C's every day (courtesy, cooperation, caring, and concern) while diving into hands-on lessons in reading, writing, analysis, leadership, community service, and STEM.

Three two-week sessions and one five-day session run from June 23 to August 14 for rising grades 2-9. Experienced staff and small-group activities ensure each child is known, seen, and supported.

The Impact on Your Child

  • Parents often say Camp Dogwood and the Saturday programs are life-changing for their children.
  • Kids return home from camp with newfound confidence, independence, and curiosity, having formed friendships that last beyond the summer.
  • They learn to lead, collaborate, and embrace challenges—skills that carry into school and life. Because the program blends academics with outdoor adventure and creative play, children discover that learning can be exciting and fun.
  • The camp's supportive community helps every child feel at home.
  • Youth emerge more resilient, compassionate, and eager to give back.
